The Prometheus Award is an award for libertarian science fiction given annually by the Libertarian Futurist Society. It was established by L. Neil Smith in 1979 for the Best Novel category, but was not awarded regularly until the society revived it in 1982. The society also created a Prometheus Hall of Fame Award in 1983 and presents occasional one-off Special Awards.
